January is a prefect month to kick-start a new healthier you. As a business owner, it's important to maintain a balance lifestyle and healthy diet.
Let's examine some of the most commonly used excuses for not living a healthier lifestyle followed by my tips to eliminating those mental impairments forever.
EXCUSE #1: I DON'T HAVE ENOUGH TIME TO EXERCISE
@MsABCU TIP: If you're like me, you love your sleep. So I won't bore you with a tip on waking up early to start your day off right. Zzzzzzzz! Here's an alternate to losing sleep.
While watching television, sit in a chair and do weighted arm curls or bi-cep curls. During commercial breaks, do as many jumping jacks as possible until your show resumes.
EXCUSE #2: I DON'T LIKE THE TASTE OF WATER
@MsABCU TIP: Try drinking one of these healthy alternates- coconut water, infused water, or green tea. All of which can easily be purchased at most grocery stores. My favorite is green tea with honey.
EXCUSE #3: I CRAVE DESSERTS AFTER EVERY MEAL
@MsABCU TIP: Replace bad sugar with good sugar. Instead of eating cake for dessert make a conscious decision to eat a bowl of fruit or fruit bar.
One of my favorite desserts or healthy snacks are a bowl of strawberries covered in honey. It always cures my sweet tooth crave.
EXCUSE #4: TAKING THE ELEVATOR IS QUICKER.
@MsABCU TIP: Yes, often times the elevator is quicker but nothing worth having comes easy. Here's a challenge. I challenge you to take the elevator up and take the stairs down.
